Hi all, After being interested in nature recording for years, but never really having any kit that would allow me to get decent results, I finally took the plunge and ordered a pair of RODE NT1-A microphones. Inspired by the work of some of the group members I've constructed an ORTF array with shockmounts and windshields. I've posted some pictures and details at http://www.pterodaktyl.co.uk in the hope that they may be of use to others who are, like me, taking their first steps in the complex but fascinating world of nature recording. I also have a test recording of our garden frogs, who seem to be particularly energetic this spring - maybe a reaction to the cold winter we've had? It's at the end of the blog post linked to above, or you can download it direct from here: http://www.pterodaktyl.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/20090217_frogs.mp3 Cheers, Tom W. |
