My understanding is that these external sound modules 'slave' to the
computer, which then actually records and stores the audio. I am not
sure it contains any internal memory to store the recording but very
much doubt it.
Effectively, they are a way of converting analogue line level signals
from electric guitars or also from microphones into digital to be
recorded, stored and processed on computer. Looks quite good for this
and cost effective too - I might check it out for the geetar !
