Yesterday I ran a test of my 744T with both it and an MP-2 on a Pro Digital brick. I was hoping that the added load of the preamp would reduce the battery voltage bounce when the 744 disconnected itself, and keep it from reconnecting. Nope. It shut down during the 13th hour of recording, did not switch to the L-ion battery on the back. I experimented with pulling the external battery plug several times while recording. No problem. So the procedure will be to simply disconnect the brick when it gets low. Bummer it won't work automatically. -Dan Dugan |
