I'd just like to say that recording a .1 channel in the field seems silly, unless perhaps you use it for a super-low-end-response mic like an MKH-110. The LFE channel is created in post production. The only reason people sell 5.1 recording systems is because their target customers are ignorant about surround technology. They know 5.1 is a standard, so they want to record it.
