I'd like to know how to do this, even if it DID
involve getting my microphones soaked. time for some
disposable microphones!

I've brought up this problem before; the recording of
the sounds of water. In particular the sounds of surf
and of streams, but also rain. I'm after trying to
recreate the sound of rain falling all around me, as I
hear it when I am standing in the rain. And that
includes the sound of drops hitting at near, middle,
and far distances. I've not managed to come anywhere
close to success.
