And here is a variation on my question, assuming that a recording of a fog =
horn is not a nature recording.

If I mix the recording of the nesting seabirds and the recording of the fog=
 horn, from the point of view of the participants in this site, is that on =
topic, off topic or a failed/contaminated nature recording?

While I'm at it, and to approach this on the light side, is it possible to =
do a proper nature recording of a heavy rainstorm without getting one's mic=
(s) soaked?
