Nevertheless, it's not the mere presence of RF which constitutes interference problems for audio recording, but the combination of a number of coordinated chance elements in the gear itself. Sometimes just changing the length of cable involved will alter the antenna characteristics of the system enough to eliminate radio intrusion. Generally, high gain circuits (mic preamps) which utilize transformers are less susceptible to RFI than transformerless designs. Anyway, having eliminated them long ago based on urban experiences, I haven't used StarQuad wired for stereo in wilderness settings, but it has had problems in worst case RF situations.
