With all the interesting notes about cardioid vs omni in a dish, has anyone tried a bidirectional (figure 8) mike at the focal point with its positive side facing into a dish? Apart from the physical difficulty of mounting a side address mike in a dish, it might offer some of the stated advantages of a cardioid, but with lower handling and wind noise susceptibility.
