I have to say I have never noticed this, but short of recording a dead cat in the vacuum of outer space I don't think I would notice 2db of noise added to the basic preamp noise. You have to remember that the experts on this forum and people writing articles like that are the *most* exacting recordists that exist. If it passes the test on this list, it's gold.
