    Putting the RH1 in your pocket or in a tiny sack will take care of
the motor 'noise', which will only be a problem in the quietest of
environments anyway. As far as the preamp goes, you'll have to spend a
*lot* of money to get a microphone that is quieter than the preamp. It
has one of the best preamps available - it's one of the reasons everyone
like this model so much. Someday, who knows when, a flash recorder will
come out as cheap as the RH1 and it will have preamps as good as the
RH1. How long do you want to wait?
