A good estimate is 14-16 dB(A).

I know what you mean. I will remove the EM21's and replace them with
a 3,5 mm pip input.

I agree, but then you still have the trouble of setting the level on
both channels separately.
As I see it, the Zoom H4 is right now the only budget alternative to
a HiMD, as the mic input is equally (?) low noise.
Looking only at noise figures, Zoom H4 easily beats both MT24/96 and
Edirol R-09, and you don't have to fight with SonicStage.
