Your best bet is Kevin Colver, MD, who lives south of SLC, Wayne. His
email is and he has several CDs that comprise
the best collection going. He's one of the finest recordists of
western bird life going and a person you ought to know since he lives
in your part of the country just south of you.

>Hi all,
>Bruce Wilson, my neighbor in the office across the hallway, told me (a
>zoology professor who studies birds) about your Yahoo group so I joined
>in hopes of finding more recordings of bird songs and calls. I am not a
>nature recordist (yet anyway) but I have an interest, especially in
>recording birds. Bruce informed me of Steve Pelikan's "Bird Song
>Computer Game", I tried it, and I really think this is a great
>educational tool for my Ornithology class, with Steve's permission of
>course. However, most of Steve's photos and songs, to date anyway, are
>of eastern US species. Do any of you have access to some good photos of
>western US species? (I have found many on the internet, but copyrights
>might be a problem here if they are applied to Steve's game.)
>
>More importantly, anyone out there specializes in bird songs and call
>who would be willing to provide songs of western species that Steve
>might add to the program? I (and I think Steve) would be very
>grateful.
