The recorder and SonicStage software will only transfer from a HiMD
disk that is write-able. This goes back to mp3/itunes/copyright
protections/concerns. Sony has been lifting restrictions with each
software upgrade and may continue to do so with pressure. HiMD disks
are FAT 32 volumes. They mount on my Mac and PC. With a file
conversion plug (as was mentioned in a recent SoundForge
announcement? ) and some additional software allowances for original
recordings, Sony could allow drag-copying files from the HiMD disks
just like from a CF card reader at USB 2.0 speeds. It may come in
time, if we ask. Rob D.
