WinXP caused me unsolvable problems with an M-Audio Transit
connected to its USB 1.1 port. I switched to Win2000 and no more
problems. I did *not* attempt recording through the Transit, only
playback. My Thinkpad is a 600X and runs about 500Mhz I believe. I have
a Firewire card and can record full frame streaming video from a camera
through the Thinkpad to an outboard Firewire drive, so CPU speed should
not be a problem.
