I've spent a lot of time in the presence of mallards and never heard a
whistle call. Male green-winged teal and pintails have a short whistle note,
and wigeons have a wheezy whistle. As Rich says, male blue-wings also make a
candidate note, but to me it sounds more like a rubber ducky squeeze toy.
And as stated below, wood ducks have an obvious whistle note.
