Hi Martyn
Well, I've put them up with a few other duck sounds.

The mallard whistles aren't particularly spectacular. And there were no tea=
l
about. I was trying for the goldeneye male display call also discussed -
which I've included. And some whistles from gadwall, probably the male. And
a bit of teal music. Mostly 3rd rate recordings.
If you'd like to listen to some nicer quality stuff, take a listen to our
newsletter. There's some orthoptera items, cicada, goshawk calls, red deer
(Cervus elaphus) stags rutting in Scotland -can't remember what else.

Hey, this is the shooting season! - c.30 million pheasants released every
autumn. So the report is right in a sense. But I haven't heard anything
about the dreaded bird flu instigating this mass slaughter. The BBC, like
the rest of the media, never let the facts get in the way of sensationalist
story.
Regards to all, Geoff.
