Thanks for all the excellent info!

Now I have to decide if I'm insane enough to buy one...
(Actually, there's no question about the sanity issue, just the
cashflow side effects.)

I've also heard a rumor that there may be a new 722 variation on
the SD horizon, but there are always rumors like that.

Powering earphones and two 48V phantom mics, about 2:15 for the
small
battery that comes with the device and 6.5 hrs with the large
(6000mAh) you can purchase for around $34. I have one of the
small
and two of the large batteries. That's continuous recording from
start to dead battery.
