Allen,

The battery life depends to a great extent on a variety of factors.
Here is a quote from Sound Devices' FAQ

Of course, you can increase battery life by using fewer inputs,
recording only to CF, turning the displays down (or off), and using
lower sampling rates or bit depth. I haven't seen any specific data on
the maximum achievable, and my own usage has never taken me anywhere
near the limit. [But I can easily fill a 1GB CF before I worry about
power.]
