The Sharp site says it is no longer offering MD recorders at
this time. They are still available as grey market items from
Japan, but does anyone know if Sharp plans to discontinue the
product line? Looks like it to me...

2. Consider one of the new Sharp models, like the MD-DR7, which
has a
pre-record (they call it "trace-back") function. With this
function turned
on, your recorder is always recording 5, 15, or 30 seconds of
sound (you
set the time) to its buffer, and when you press "record" it
writes the last
5, 10, or 30 seconds to the disc and continues to record. That
way you
never miss a sudden unexpected vocalization. You can borrow mine
for a
trial if you want.
