Rich, I probably shouldn't say it's a universal problem since it clearly depends on the hardware, the drivers used, and the OS. In my case the problem was encountered recording using the Echo Layla eight-channel interface to a variety of computers all using Adobe Audition. The amount of offset betwee= n channel pairs varied from just a few samples (but never zero) up to a coupl= e of hundred. But most commonly about 20 to 30 samples. Since Audition doesn't support ASIO, as you noted, I switched to the free Kristal Audio Engine: http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/ and used ASIO drivers. No more problem. Eric |
