Let us know. You may want to pick up a 4 channel
RME QUAD MIC. Many of the interfaces with
built-in mic pres are made for studios and have
only 40-45dB gain, about 20-25dB less than a mp2
and 30-35 dB less than a HiMD mic pre. For the
application you describe, a pre with little gain
will produce low sound file saturation and
unnecessary noise in the final. Recording at 24
bits helps but cannot offset under-saturation in
