What is so curious is this one's preference for water. You won't hear him anywhere but on the levee. Granted, there are low shrubs and bushes on the river side, but... As for the 'brown bird'- the field guide indicates 'brown above', and in low light that's all I could see. Thanks for all of the help, from everyone who had a look.
