I'm wondering if this would be a practical noise test for recorder:
Make up a set of shielded resistor mic dummy loads, say
dead short, 200 Ohms, 600 Ohms, 1000 Ohms, 4.7 kOhms.
Record a 10 or 20 second "gain control sweep" with each dummy,
crossed with each recording mode crossed with each input.
Maybe crossed with each power source and mic power option.
Anyone have favorite analysis software for characterizing the noise.
