Windows Media Player 10

For those with XP. Free upgrade on line.
The new Windows Media Player 10 appears well worth spending some time
with.
Ripping CD's for references is now easy and includes a lossless .wma
option.

I have not played with it yet but streaming surround 5.1 and 7.1 .wma
is now a reality.

Hey and for those that like good metadata look at the lyrics area.
Both syncronized and static are supported. Yup, photos supported too.

Windows media encoder is a free additional download.

It appears that .wma and Media Player 10 has now far passed what .mp3
can do and with ease of use.

As parts of this upgrade is new to us and will have some learning
curve involved, please post how you find it for archive,
presentation, and web access uses. Looks promising to me and worth
spending some time with.
