It's been a while since I've done any editing on OS9, but some software
will move your split point to CD data block boundries, so that the
burning software doesn't have an opportunity to mess things up.
I've also noticed that some times the editor will add big clicks
at the cut points.  I'm up to MacOS 10.3.3 and Toast Titanium 5.2.3
(and Jam 5.0), and I edit with Sound Studio 2.1.1 and Audacity,
and no longer plauged by glitches at track cuts.

Oh, the worse offender for glitching was the MacOS X built-in
CD ripping (eg. iTunes or Finder) when the tracks starts were
from DAT to audio CD-R transfers.  That problem's fixed.
