I expect the requirement for surround also has it's influence.

I'm still deciding where each combo works best. I don't expect my 
nearfield stereo will get down to the M/S MKH 40/30. For one thing, 
there's the SASS.

I'll also not get rid of directionality, if anything I need more choices 
there.

It was your M/S MKH 40/30 recordings that got me into M/S.
