Myself, and AKG Blue Line questions

Hello,

I'm studying to become an audio engineer (broad field of course) at:
http://www.oiart.ca

I'd like to get into Classical recording primarly, but movies and
nature recordings (sfx) interest me too.
I figure a great way to get into movies or any sfx for that matter
would be to start a library.

I kind of narrowed it down to the AKG Blue Line because....

- swappable capsules!!
- fair price

I'm really for swappable capsules because it allows me to buy a
quality mic and still have the option for other polar patterns. While
an actual shotgun or figure-8 switch on a mic isn't quite as
effective.
I am more than welcome for other suggestions of companies who offer
mics with swappable capsules (at the same price though please <$1000).

As for storage, allow me to reproduce a question I formulated
elsewhere...

Does the SE 300B (preamp) provide the capsule with Phantom Power?
I know it's a preamp, but if I were considering the Fostex MR-8 as a
portable storage medium (NO Phantom Powering) will they work
together? Could the SE 300B be powered with some AA's and used with
the Fostex then?

http://www.fostex.com/support/pdf/fostex/mr8/mr8_data_sheet.pdf

I was considering this too as a portable storage medium:

http://www.nomadworld.com/products/Jukebox3/features.asp

It holds uncompressed WAV files. Are there any downsides to using
this?

In my own research, I found the Blue Line to be best for: price,
swappable
capsules, and quality.
Should I be considering another storage medium?
----------------------------------------------------------------

I think I've ruled out that it provides phantom and that I need some
sort of external batttery source to use with the preamp. Do AKG sell
these?

Likewise, I hope I can be of some help to this wonderful group.

Kind Regards,
JarrettH (Toronto)
