I agree, Walt, but to get that "minor design" I have order minimum 5.000.000
(five milion) handles.
There is an evil spell on battery contacts. I had a visitor here recently
with a PS2, and the only thing he complained about was that he had to put
aluminium foil at the battery, to make contact. Even PS2...
I have had two other Telinga designs before. One had an external box with a
nine volt battery. "Everybody" complained about it, as it was an extra box
to carry and the battery connections always got worn out, or the cables came
apart.
The other design had a round 15 volt battery and a little tube inside the
handle. In 1985 that battery type became very rare and very expensive, so I
gave it up.
I have had my own PRO5 handle for over 10 years. The accu is working as it
should. There is no damage on the battery cable. Once the accu was all dead
and I had no extra battery to charge it with, so I used my car battery
instead. In 10 minutes I got current enough to use the Telinga for two days,
until I could get a proper nine-volt battery.
