The cable in this example is my total supply of my best cable. The
cable keeps getting shorter as I do more projects. It is Canare Star
Quad Low Profile stereo cable. Wired here unbalanced and wired as
mono with the two pairs shorted together. This stuff is really nice
to work with in the field. My third example was recorded at 23
degrees F and the cable was very flexible and easy to get the knots
out of in the dark when I set up.

We just don't have the problems that are found in music studios with
noise. For the Open Invite Recordists Campout in LaFarge WI on 5/16 -
5/18 we will be setting up 6 or 8 channels and we will be using
surplus telephone cable (4 copper wires and ground shield). I found
this cable for $9.00 for 900 feet.

We have not decided yet if we are going to set up in a line or in a
hexigon. We will wing that.
