The base plastic for this foam is PVC, so anything compatible with PVC.
It's closed cell foam, comes in thicknesses down to 3mm, maybe less.
This foam is specifically designed for laminating in as a core. Very
nice to work with as I remember. Put it on a forming mold then do one
side, remove mold, do other side, done. Or if you have equipment for
vacuum bagging or whatever, it fits right in.
Here's the US importer:

I need to contact them and find out about minimum orders and such like.
I have a number of projects for which this would be really nice.
Ebay is a source for small amounts of fabric. Quite a variety turns up
there if you keep watching. I've several pieces of fiberglass down to
0.5 oz material, and a length of 0.75 oz kevlar I got that way. So far
the thin carbon fiber has been fought over too hard. At least one seller
comes on periodically with this light stuff. Has been doing so for at
least a year.
I've not seen any airex offered on Ebay.
