Adam, I agree. The machine is a masterpiece of it's time.
But the PRO version was made especially for professional intervievs of
people, using a dynamic microphone. That was the only recommended use. The
mic input of TC-D5M is likewise, but unbalanced. It is noisy unless the mic
impedance is below 600 ohms. Using a simple electret, one needs to buffer
the output of it.
