Yes Geoffrey for sure! - It recently warmed my heart at the Botanic Gardens when I observed a wheelchair bound gentleman (with Carer) pushing on the main track with camera enjoying his nature photography.
It reminded me that anyone of us could be there if unlucky and to have that opportunity to keep doing what we love with a little forethought is just magic!

cheers

No worries re a low window for photographers as long as there's also one for more traditional users with binocs and telescopes! And yes, a two-level hide (like the excellent new ones at Gum Swamp) would indeed be welcome.

Excellent Miriam if there are indeed there are to be two levels - can the new hide have lower level window as low down as possible so Photographers can shoot as close to water level as possible?
Thanks

Hi Rob,

Thanks for bringing it up. ACT PCS have it in the plan to put a bird hide at the southern end of Kelly’s swamp as soon as the funding opportunity arises.  In the meantime, we ask bird watchers to give the birds at the southern end of Kelly’s swamp some space.

Foot paths around Kelly’s swamp were damaged with last week’s heavy rain. There was a flash flooding event Thursday night that gouged out some of the foot paths and flooded other areas. It is one of ACT PCS’s priorities to have the foot path repaired as soon as possible.

I notice that an attempt has been made to stop people accessing the southern end of Kelly's swamp. Has any consideration been given to building a hide in that location?
I see that there's been quite a lot of trail damage from the downpour last week.
