A few days ago I was jogging around Hughes Oval and saw a Magpie wrestling with a wire coat hanger (the sort that’s quite thick wire covered in white plastic). Going back a few minutes later to retrieve the hanger and put it in the bin it was
nowhere to be found. So somewhere round the Oval a Magpie nest has a very secure base!
