mine have been worrying a piece of tie wire hanging from the gutter in the past week . I have removed it , the last thing we need is another Magpie hanging from wire or string or fishing line at 10 or 20 metres up. We have at least 3 a year. Fire brigade are our only hope & they are good at it.

Local Magpie carrying nesting material, but that is natural for this time of year I would think given that the chicks usually leave the nest around the long weekend in October. So maybe not so unusual for other species.

Ravens were carrying nest building material at Jerra the other day
