Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoo.  Always has been.  Something special, unearthly, primeval, the way they float over a forest canopy, wheeling and screeching.

 

Mind you, I also have a soft spot for the Double-barred Finch.  And I’d like to see a Black Falcon one day…

Many of you chatliners out there will have a favourite Australian bird.  If so, I would like to know what it is (to see if there is any consensus, or surprises).  Need not be local.
