For me, it’s the Night Parrot. When I first joined COG in the 1970s, I recall talking to Dick Schodde about the Paradise & Night Parrots. Dick said he was sure both that the Paradise Parrot was extinct and that the Night Parrot wasn’t. So wonderful that it’s now been ‘found’ again. I don’t care if I never see one myself, provided the bird & its habitat are fully protected, including (dare I say) from armies of over-enthusiastic twitchers. However, I would love to see that film clip!

Many of you chatliners out there will have a favourite Australian bird.  If so, I would like to know what it is (to see if there is any consensus, or surprises).  Need not be local.
