Hard to know. You may like to consult the book: D. Jones, 2002, Magpie alert: learning to live with a wild neighbour, UNSW Press. 
That describes the issues of magpie aggression.
I did a review of it (2002) at Canberra Bird Notes 27: 138–139.

Hi all – and thanks Geoffrey.  I wonder what we would suggest as our least favourite Australian bird…?

 

‘None’, of course, is one possible answer.  Starlings and Indian Mynas are ruled out as not Australian.  I would have to propose the Australian Magpie as my least favorite, simply because I really don’t look forward to being swooped in spring – and I’ve been swooped more aggressively in Canberra, whether on foot or cycling, than anywhere else.  Perhaps last spring (my first spring in Canberra) was particularly bad, or perhaps I live in a particular aggressive part of the Magpie gene-pool…?
