Our walk started at 9am almost at the gates of Yarralumla with 8 members.  I did wonder whether the G-G might join us, but was advised that she is elsewhere at the moment.  However, a little later we did meet an ex-President (of COG, not the guy who joined the unemployed earlier in the morning).

Our route was down the bike path towards Weston Park, along the lake shore behind the Nursery and return, concluding with a brief foray in the pines to find a Grey Butcherbird.

In total we scored 39 species including very good views of some green Satin Bowerbirds (as we saw them, could they be considered "spotted bowerbirds"); we heard an Eastern Yellow Robin, excellent close up views of Gang-gang feeding in a hawthorn, Double-barred Red-Browed and European Gold finches.

As I feared the walk was too soft to tempt anyone up the Clyde.  The weather was fine and the trees shady.  But we did get our shoes (OK the soles of our shoes) wet (OK damp) so cannot really be considered unadventurous.

Any suggestions for next months foray  will be welcome.

Martin
