Can anyone help?

At Burra near Qbn R. on N Yr's Day i saw 2 v large moths with wings v like old dry pale brown/tan gum leaves; there were dusky  pink dots and other small (violet?) circular markings on the wings; one was pulsating gently in the morning sun on window sill and producing a heap of tiny yellow eggs; another heap was nearby. Sadly i did not photograph it; someone suggested an Emperor Gum moth; could that be right ?
in hope
