45+ Superb Parrots at Cook Horse Paddocks

Between 7.30 and 8.00pm today we observed 45+ Superb Parrots flying between the Wybalena park and the concrete trough in the middle of the Cook horse paddock but not all at once. Some landed on the ground at the north end of the paddock. At one stage there were 30+ at the trough, 15+ on the ground and some more in the surrounding trees. Some were feeding young but there did not seem to be as many young harassing adults as a fortnight ago.

I watched the ones on the ground and observed them nipping bits off Goose Grass (Eleusine tristachya) heads. They appeared to be feeding on something else on the ground as well but I could not make out what it was. More kept on landing on the ground and when we left there were 30+ on the ground.
