Ah, Cape York evokes memories of the Bush Stone-curlew and its wailing nocturnal call - beats the Koels hands down Anthony! 
 
Locally the Red Wattlebird at 4.30am gets my "most annoying" vote.  20-odd years ago it would have been the Silvereyes roosting/nesting in our pittosporum, at a similar time, but we don't get them now (and that's annoying!)
