For those who are not aware and may be heading north for the holidays there is an opportunity to see a Lesser Yellowlegs.  The bird is, I believe, only the fifth record of its species in Australia.  It is currently at a little village called Jerseyville, near South-west Rocks.  A local birder, Ken Singleton keeps tabs on the bird and is happy to show anyone who is keen to see it.  Ken’s number is 65667846.  We heard about the bird from a friend in WA and were coincidentally heading for Port Macquarie to visit grandkids.  So we contacted Ken and met him at Jerseyville.  Ten minutes latter we were looking at the bird (see photo below).
