Thanks for comments, but this bird is not even
remotely close to a National winner. In recent history, that would probably go
to the Grey-headed Lapwing.There are more birding visitors to here that are
impressed with the great availability of our rosellas, king parrots, gang gangs
etc than one owl.
Other PO have been for years at Brisbane's
botanic gardens, occasionally recently at Melbourne's botanic gardens and they
make regular appearances within Sydney suburbs. Let's not get carried away with
ourselves, or is this a hangover from Kate Carnell's motto of "feel the power of
Canberra". That went like a lead balloon.
