It is holding a Diving-Fox. It is doing so as
it has been chartered by the Diving-Fox Fanciers Association as the best means
of smuggling Diving-Foxes into Tasmania. From reports I have read in the
media this service has been quite popular, although since the detected canids
have been rendered two dimensional by the passage of a vehicle the authorities
have rated them as simple Foxes rather than the elegant Diving-Fox.
With regards to Stuarts picture I had assumed the
Pelican was holding a passenger from Heathrow who had chosen a Homing-Pelican's
pouch as the only way to get back to Australia on the same flight as their
tripod.
