Sun 14 Jul Lesser Sand-Plover, Red-necked Stint Benwell Road, Ross River mouth, South Townsville
Stints and plovers thanks to Lens scope. Includes adjacent grass and parkland. Lesser Sand-Plover (2) Red-necked Stint (4) maybe more

Sun 14 Jul Little Woodswallow Private property Dingo Park Road, Calcium
Several of this species seen on the property. (Moderator's Note:- Uncommon in this area south of Townsville. First report in this 10' Cell)

Thu 11 Jul Eastern Grass Owl Tyto Wetlands, Ingham
Two Eastern Grass Owl flushed about 9.30am from thick grasses near owl viewing platform. Brief flights west to similar habitat.

Wed 10 Jul Cotton Pygmy-goose Catana Wetlands, Smithfield, Cairns, Qld.
Male bird on pond west of largest pond in the wetlands. Bird was present from July 3rd through to today (Wednesday) 10th July. It was keeping company with 2 pairs of Green Pygmy-geese. (Moderator Note:- This is the 4th report on Eremaea Birds since12/7/2013).

Sun 7 Jul Great-billed Heron Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge (Morning Walk)
Great-billed Heron (1) Standing on bank of Bushy Creek near Mt. Kooyong Road bridge. Unusual at this time of year, they have occasionally appeared about August in previous years.

Sat 6 Jul Gouldian Finch Lakefield National Park
2 Gouldian Finch (one red-headed, one black-headed) feeding on vehicle track with Black-throated Finch and Double-barred Finch. 2.3 km east of Hann Crossing. Distant ID photo attached.

Freckled Duck Hasties Swamp National Park
Freckled Duck (1) seen sitting on the log to the south of the hide with plumed whistling ducks and magpie geese. The bird was seen at about midday. (Moderator Note:- This is the 18th report from this location this year - Freckled Duck has been present since 23rd February).

Wed 19 Jun Red-necked Crake Cape Tribulation
Red-necked Crake seen mid-morning foraging on northern side of Kulki boardwalk, approximately 100-150m from carpark. Fantasic, sustained views. Black Butcherbird also seen on walk. Single Beach Stone-curlew on beach
