Sun 30 Jun Red-necked Avocet Ferrero Road Wetland, Port Douglas
Red-necked Avocet (1) well seen and photographed. Unusual sighting for the Port Douglas area.

Sat 29 Jun Night Parrot Undisclosed site in far south-west Queensland

Fri 28 Jun Squatter Pigeon, Golden Bowerbird, Satin Bowerbird Lamb Range 10' Cell
Looking for quolls ( carnivorous marsupials - got both :), plus some great bird sightings as recorded below. Drove from Mareeba to main ridge on Lamb Range via Tinaroo Creek Road, Kauri Creek Road and Emu Creek. Squatter Pigeon (2) In dry country in flatter section on Tinaroo Creek road Golden Bowerbird (1) Great view of male in full sunlight. Spectacular. Many others heard. start of rainforest Kauri Creek Road Satin Bowerbird (1) Female, at start of rainforest on Kauri Creek Road

Thu 27 Jun Golden Pheasant, Grey Goshawk Bowling Green Bay NP (Alligator Creek)
Golden Pheasant (1) male wandering around the camping ground, with several brush-turkeys. One of several game / domestic species released in the park: all captured and re-housed except for the Golden Pheasant. Grey Goshawk landed on exposed branch near the entrance and later seen flying over the water course.

Sun 23 Jun Freckled Duck Hasties Swamp National Park, Atherton, FNQ
4 Freckled Ducks seen today roosting on the logs to the south of the hide on the eastern bank. The myriad Pink-eared Ducks still present in high numbers & the Aust Shovelers still at northern end... A good array of rarer waterfowl for this part of the world...
