Hi Ian

I've never heard of Ring-necked or Alexandrine Parakeets managing to breed in Melbourne but I've always been worried it would happen. As you will know from past threads Ring-necked populations have exploded in England, taking up many nesting hollows.

Please try to confirm if there is a "family" and, if so, report it to DSE, noting that a group could be the result of carelessness or stupidity by keepers of caged birds.

Michael Norris
