If I may add my little chirp here - I think that Frank has hit the nail on the head. I you use your bins professionally or all day long in all types of conditions your eyes will soon feel like they are standing out on stalks with the less expensive binoculars. After having had Leitz (the old Leicas) or Leicas for the past 20 years or so I cannot bear to bird with other bins that admittedly cost a LOT less. At first glance the optics don't appear to much different, but bird solidly for an extended period or in poor light conditions and you WILL notice the difference.
