Swarovski vs Leica

My wife uses a pair of old Zeiss bins. They're sturdy (mainly due to
their East German heritage) and bulletproof (probably for the same
reason!). The optics are excellent.

If there aren't any birds around they make great snake defence.
Alternatively you could use them as an anvil, should you need to fashion
a horseshoe.

(Hmmm, does that come under the heading of "stringing"?)

I hadn't ruled out Zeiss, just hadn't got close enough to a purchase
point to think about them or others. I know people with old Zeiss who
absolutely swear by them.
