Three, possibly same birds as reported on 9 June; two were up-ending, presumably feeding, in this highly-disturbed water body (muddy edges trampled by cattle).

Freckled Duck, Black Falcon, Red-backed Kingfisher, Black-tailed Nativehen
Lotus Lagoon, Rockhampton
Waterfowl in abundance throughout Rockhamptons ephemeral wetlands. Highlights were a single Freckled Duck, a pair of Red-backed Kingfishers perched on the airport perimeter fence, a Black Falcon being mobbed by Black Kites and 8 Black-tailed Nativehens. Also in good numbers were Pinked-eared Ducks and Great Crested Grebes. Large 4m Saltwater Crocodile also patrolling the lagoon.

Little Black Cormorant, Pied Cormorant, Freckled Duck, Cotton Pygmy-Goose, Pink-eared Duck
Dowse Lagoon, Sandgate
The highlight this afternoon was @250 Little Black Cormorants coming in to land in front of the Southerden St platform, covered the water on landing and then moved en masse to the island to join those already present, 360 in total. With them was also 1 Pied Cormorant - not seen here very often. Pink-eared Ducks now number 78, 3 Cotton Pygmy-Geese (2f, 1m) plus 2 Freckled Duck. 100+ mix of Grey and Chestnut Teal.

Gold Creek Road (uppermost sections)
Three Satin Bowerbirds along road; one feeding on fruit (guava?). Five or six Spectacled Monarchs, scattered; much calling. Pitta called twice from closed scrub.
